The OAS/DCF project, implemented by the Centre for Enterprise Development Inc. (CED) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, focuses on enhancing the resilience and capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through technology and innovation. The initiative, titled “Retooling MSMEs through innovation and technology,” aims to foster economic recovery and sustainable development by encouraging changes in business strategies and practices.
Since its inception in 2022, the project has offered various trainings and initiatives, helping local entrepreneurs to embrace digital solutions. As the project approaches its conclusion on September 30, 2024, the CED has announced several workshops, including:
- Digital Transformation – Leveraging Technology for MSME Management (27-29 August)
- Financial Literacy (11-12 September)
- Design Thinking to Develop a Business (16-20 September)
These workshops aim to further equip entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s market. Additionally, the project has supported targeted groups from the agriculture industry, the creative sector, and the blue economy, helping them leverage e-commerce websites to boost revenues. Two Technology Fairs have also been conducted to showcase digital solutions for MSMEs.
The OAS/DCF project is funded by a US$100,000 grant approved by the OAS in 2022. It emphasizes building institutional and human resource capacity as a foundation for sustainable development, especially in countries with smaller and more vulnerable economies. The project offers a valuable opportunity for local MSME owners and operators to enhance their business practices and embrace new technologies. Interested participants can register for the workshops through the CED’s social media pages or by calling 451-2235/6.
