The Windward Islands Cricket Board (WICB) and the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) are set to make history with the inaugural youth cricket series between the Trinidad and Tobago Under-13 Team and the Windward Islands Under-13 Team. This landmark event, which runs from August 23 to August 28, 2024, in Grenada, will feature four exciting limited-overs matches.

The series is a pivotal moment in the development of youth cricket across the Caribbean, providing a platform for the region’s young talent to showcase their skills and gain vital competitive experience.

Dwain Gill, President of the WICB, expressed his excitement ahead of the series, saying, “This series is a crucial step in nurturing the next generation of West Indian cricketers. Hosting the Trinidad and Tobago Under-13 Team is an honor, and we anticipate a display of exceptional talent. The experience these young players will gain is invaluable as they progress in their cricketing careers.”

TTCB President Azim Bassarath echoed these sentiments, highlighting the significance of early competitive opportunities for young cricketers. “We are thrilled to participate in this inaugural series and are grateful for the warm hospitality extended by the Windward Islands. This initiative is in line with our commitment to developing young talent, and we believe this series will lay the groundwork for future collaborations between our boards,” Bassarath stated.

All matches will take place at the picturesque La Sagesse Ground in St. David, Grenada, starting at 10:00 am daily. Fans across the region can catch the action live through various streaming platforms.

Looking ahead, the ties between the WICB and TTCB are set to strengthen further, with Trinidad and Tobago expected to host the Windward Islands Under-13 Team in a reciprocal series in 2025, continuing the focus on youth development.

    Match Schedule:

    • Friday, August 23: Warm-up match
    • Saturday, August 24: Trinidad & Tobago vs. Windwards Islands (40 overs)
    • Monday, August 26: Trinidad & Tobago vs. Windwards Islands (40 overs)
