The Beauty Shows Committee of the Carnival Development Corporation is poised to deliver an evening of high fashion and philanthropy with the second edition of “The Queens’ Runway” Fashion Show. Set against the elegant backdrop of La Vue Boutique Hotel and Beach Bar in Kingstown, St. Vincent, on August 31, 2024, this much-anticipated event will not only showcase the best of local design talent but also contribute to vital national relief efforts.
Launched in 2022, “The Queens’ Runway” has quickly become a hallmark of style and elegance, bringing together past pageant queens, former contestants, and current competitors as models. This year’s event takes on added significance as part of the proceeds will be directed toward the recovery efforts in Union Island, which bore the brunt of Hurricane Beryl’s destructive force.
Aviar Charles, Chairperson of the Beauty Shows Committee, emphasized the importance of the cause, noting that one of this year’s contestants hails from Union Island. The devastation there has galvanized the pageant community, with contestants leveraging their platforms to secure donations for those displaced by the hurricane. The committee is committed to continuing these efforts, with a portion of the fashion show’s proceeds earmarked for the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO).
Patrons can look forward to a night of unparalleled fashion and entertainment, with seven dynamic segments planned: Resort/Chic Wear, The Queens’ Runway, Casual/Hip Wear, Cocktail Wear, Miss SVG Attire, A Royal Dream, and The Finale. The runway will feature designs from nine of St. Vincent’s most innovative designers, including Letties Couture Creations, ChaDe, Atelier Shernicia, Solange Couture, Owen Paul Couture, ENVE, Fashion is Payne, AfiShall Designs, and Kimmystic Clo.
In addition to the visual feast, attendees will have the chance to win exclusive prizes, including tickets to the Miss SVG Pageant, making “The Queens’ Runway” not just a celebration of style, but an event with heart, dedicated to the resilience and recovery of a community in need.
