On September 8, 2024, police arrested and charged Harold Hamilton, a 40-year-old laborer from Friendship, Bequia, with theft and damage to property. According to the investigation, Hamilton allegedly broke into the home of a 38-year-old carpenter in Bequia on September 5, 2024, and stole items valued at $1,668.97 ECC. Entry was reportedly gained by forcing open an aluminum door on the northern side of the building.
Hamilton is also charged with damaging two 32×80 aluminum doors, valued at $2,000.00 ECC, by ripping them apart with an unknown object. These doors belong to the same complainant.
Hamilton appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on September 9, 2024, and pleaded guilty to the charges. He was remanded in custody until September 25, 2024, pending sentencing.
