In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, police arrested a 53-year-old woman in Frenches during a raid on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
According to a statement from the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), officers from the Rapid Response Unit and the Narcotics Unit conducted a search at a residence in the Frenches area, where they discovered 1,075 grams of cocaine.
The woman, Patricia Solomon, was arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug, Conspiracy, and Drug Trafficking.
Solomon appeared before the Mesopotamia Magistrate Court on Friday, September 13, where she pleaded not guilty to the charges. She was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 with one surety. As part of her bail conditions, Solomon was ordered to surrender her travel documents and report to the Central Police Station every Monday and Thursday. Additionally, stop notices were issued at all ports of entry and exit to prevent her from leaving the country. The case has been transferred to the Serious Offences Court, where it is set for a hearing on September 17.
The RSVGPF has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling drug-related crimes and is urging the public to continue cooperating by reporting suspicious activities.
