The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has intensified its crackdown on illegal firearms, arresting a Lowmans Windward farmer during a routine patrol.

Michael Jackson, 39, was apprehended on the evening of September 18, 2024, after officers discovered a Glock 9mm pistol and 13 rounds of ammunition in his possession.
Jackson was stopped while walking along a public road in Lowmans Windward, where a search of his black one-strap bag revealed the concealed firearm and ammunition. He was immediately taken into custody and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Appearing before the Serious Offences Court on September 19, Jackson pleaded not guilty. Despite his plea, he was granted bail set at $20,000 EC with one surety. As part of his bail conditions, Jackson is required to report to the Biabou Police Station every Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. until further notice.
The RSVGPF continues to prioritize the removal of illegal weapons from Vincentian streets, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward gun-related crimes. A spokesperson for the RSVGPF stressed that the possession of illegal firearms is a grave threat to public safety, and offenders will face the full weight of the law.
In light of this latest arrest, the RSVGPF is urging the public to assist law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activity related to firearms. “The cooperation of citizens is vital in ensuring a safer community for all,” the statement read. “Together, we can curtail the spread of illegal weapons and maintain peace across the nation.”
This arrest marks another significant step in the RSVGPF’s ongoing efforts to protect the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines from the dangers posed by illicit firearms.
