Kingstown, Saint Vincent – In a bold move against international drug trafficking, the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) apprehended three St. Lucian nationals in a significant cocaine seizure earlier this week. The suspects were caught at sea by the SVG Coast Guard with 20 kilograms of cocaine, further underscoring the police force’s commitment to cracking down on narcotics smuggling across the region.
The St. Lucians, identified as Dolton “Degree” John, 32; Moses “Laygay” Barbour, 50; and Ezra “Will” Henry, 49, were arrested after a coordinated operation involving the Coast Guard and the Rapid Response Unit (RRU). All three have been charged with conspiracy, possession of controlled drugs, and drug trafficking. They appeared before the Serious Offenses Court on September 18, 2024, pleading not guilty. The case has been adjourned to October 17, 2024, and they remain in custody at His Majesty’s Prison pending trial.
In a related operation, the RRU recovered an additional three kilograms of cocaine hidden in Bequia’s Hamilton area, bringing the total seizure to 22,243 grams, valued at EC$460,000.
