The Economic Planning Division, through the Volcano Eruption Emergency Project (VEEP), has handed over a brand-new all-terrain vehicle (ATV) to the Ministry of Agriculture’s (MOA) Forestry Division. The 2024 CFMOTO UFORCE 1000 ATV, equipped with an electric winch, spare cable, and highway transport trailer, was received by MOA’s Permanent Secretary, Nerissa Gittens, on September 25, 2024.
Procured at a cost of US $24,610 through NSG Exports Limited, the ATV is aimed at facilitating the cleanup and rehabilitation efforts in volcanic-affected areas, particularly in the mountainous regions classified as “red zones.” This initiative supports the restoration of forestry works, contributing to the ongoing rehabilitation of regions impacted by volcanic eruptions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The VEEP, funded by the World Bank, is designed to enhance disaster resilience, restore livelihoods, and rehabilitate critical infrastructure.
