    World Pediatrics Scoliosis Medical Team completes successful clinic

    Kingstown, St. Vincent & the Grenadines – World Pediatrics has completed another successful clinic on Sunday
    October 13th 2024, continuing its commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services to Caribbean families.
    The clinic held was their Orthopedic – Spine clinic led by Pediatric Neurosurgeon – Dr. Steven Hwang at the Milton
    Cato Memorial Hospital (“MCMH”). Along with Dr. Hwang, the team comprised of Dr. Andres Cobar –Orthopedic
    Spine Surgeon, Dr. Carmen Khorram – Anesthesiologist, Emily Stankoski – Physician Assistant, Thomas
    Henderson – Surgical Technician, Mallory Mourmoras – Neuro-monitoring Specialist, and Jordan Donaghy –
    Nuvasive Representative. The team was also provided with support from Mrs. Janelle Ballah, local physiotherapist
    at MCMH.
    Thirty-three (33) children from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as neighboring islands such as Antigua,
    Grenada and St. Lucia were evaluated by the team on clinic day. Following the clinic, eight (8) children were
    identified and selected for critical spinal surgery, scheduled to take place between Monday October 14 th, and
    Wednesday October 16th, 2024. Dr. Jasmine Davy-Ellis along with some local staff and OR nurses from MCMH
    supported the team throughout their operations.
    Being his first visit to St. Vincent, Dr. Cobar remarked, “It’s an amazing experience for me, and the cases are going
    really well.” Similarly, Dr. Hwang expressed his pleasure in being able to reconnect with some familiar families as
    well as welcoming new ones during the clinic. He also made mention of the surgeries conducted thus far,
    emphasizing that they have been carried out smoothly and without complications.

    sincerest gratitude for supporting the development of creating easier access to advanced medical care for our
    Caribbean children.
