A 24-year-old labourer from Trinidad and Tobago, O’she Payne, was fined $1,000 after pleading guilty to unlawfully taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
The incident occurred on November 6, 2024, in Campden Park, where Payne drove a blue Suzuki car, registration number R-1998, belonging to a 23-year-old warehouse worker. Police investigations confirmed that Payne had no lawful authority to operate the vehicle.
He was arrested on November 14 and brought before the Kingstown Magistrates Court the following day, where he admitted to the offence. Payne was ordered to pay the fine immediately or serve a one-year sentence at His Majesty’s Prison.
