On November 19, 2024, police arrested and charged Garnet Greaves, a 62-year-old Farmer of Dorsetshire Hill with the offences of Possession of an Offensive Weapon and Threatening Language.
Investigations revealed that the accused, without lawful excuse, had in his possession an offensive weapon, namely a cutlass, in the Dorsetshire Hill Public Road; a public place.
Additionally, the accused reportedly used threatening language towards a 30-year-old Contractor of Arnos Vale, stating, “I will chop alyo up and throw alyo give pig.” The offences occurred at Dorsetshire Hill on November 5, 2024.
The accused appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on November 20, 2024, and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted bail in the sum $2,00.00 ECC with one surety. He was also ordered not to have any contact with the complainant and the matter was adjourned to March 10, 2025 for trial.
