South Rivers Farmer charged with Grievous Bodily Harm

On November 25, 2024, police arrested and charged Evran Defreitas, a 34-year-old Farmer of South Rivers, with the offence of Grievous Bodily Harm.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused unlawfully inflicted Grievous Bodily Harm on a 50-year-old Painter of the same address by striking him about his body with a stick.
The offence was committed in South Rivers on August 11, 2024.
Defreitas appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate Court on November 25, 2024, and pleaded not guilty to the charge. The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for December 2, 2024.
