Kingstown, December 3, 2024 – The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is warning the public about a rising scam where fraudsters impersonate legitimate vehicle dealers, leaving victims thousands of dollars poorer and in financial despair.
In a recent breakthrough, police arrested and charged Daislyian Davis, a 36-year-old businessman from Evesham, for allegedly defrauding a 31-year-old cricketer of $52,400 ECC. The incident occurred between July 1 and July 31, 2024, in Kingstown.
Davis, who appeared in the Kingstown Magistrate Court on December 2, pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail of $10,000 ECC with one surety and is now under strict restrictions, including stop notices at all ports of entry and the surrender of all travel documents. The case is set for trial on January 27, 2025.
