Kingstown, St. Vincent – The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) brought festive cheer to Central Police Station on Friday, December 13, 2024, with its annual Christmas Caroling Competition under the theme, “It’s 2024, we caroling for sure.” The event, marked by a showcase of musical talent and camaraderie, ended in resounding success.
Winners Announced
In the Junior Category, the Spring Village Police Youth Club claimed victory, earning a cash prize of $650 and a trophy. They also took home the Best Dressed Choir award and an additional $400. Second place went to the Stubbs/Diamond Police Youth Club ($500 and a trophy), while the Bequia Police Youth Club secured third place ($450 and a trophy).
The Senior Category saw the Traffic Angels dominate the competition, winning first place with a prize of $750 and a trophy. They also swept all the special awards, including Best Original Carol, Best Traditional Carol, Best Speech, and Best Dressed Choir. The South Western Carolers ($650 and a trophy) and South Central Carolers ($500 and a trophy) placed second and third, respectively.
“Spirits Lifted” Competition
The caroling season continued with the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture’s “Spirits Lifted” Christmas Caroling Contest, held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Victoria Park. The Police Youth Club Choir emerged victorious, with the Spring Village Police Youth Club winning the Best Traditional Carol award. Their performance earned them $3,000, a toaster, and a trophy.
Community Support and Recognition
The RSVGPF extended heartfelt thanks to its many sponsors, including the SVG Police Cooperative Credit Union, the National Lotteries Authority, and Massy Stores, among others. These contributions were instrumental in ensuring the competition’s success.
Judges Aubrey Gould, Earl Paynter, and Rodney Small were praised for their professionalism and impartiality.
