An auxiliary police officer is on sick leave after being allegedly beaten with a broomstick by a teenager at the Liberty Lodge Boys Training Centre in Green Hill.
According to a reliable source, the incident occurred when the teenager, who is charged with the murder of another teen, got into an altercation with the officer stationed at the center. “The boy became aggressive and proceeded to beat the officer with a broomstick,” the source said.
The officer sustained injuries during the attack and was sent for medical treatment. He is now recovering on sick leave.
The source further revealed that the behavior of these teen, particularly those charged with serious offenses such as murder, has become increasingly concerning. “They are very aggressive,” the source noted. “They’ve been breaking doors and windows and even using toothbrushes to make weapons.”
This escalating aggression has left staff and and other residents at the facility deeply unsettled. “The officers and other residents are extremely disturbed by the boys’ behavior. It’s becoming difficult to manage,” the source added.
