Chateaubelair, St. Vincent – A 31-year-old labourer has been charged with trespassing, property damage, and possession of an offensive weapon after allegedly intimidating a local farmer and vandalizing property.
In a press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force reported that Okito Ashton, a labourer from Chateaubelair, is accused of entering the property of 70-year-old farmer Joel Francois with the intent to intimidate. Ashton allegedly caused $300 ECC worth of damage by chopping a wooden door with a cutlass on December 14, 2024.
Further, Ashton is charged with trespassing into the Blue Waters Night Club while armed with a cutlass.
The accused is expected to appear before the Chateaubelair Magistrate Court to answer the charges. Authorities have reiterated the importance of community safety and the consequences of using weapons to threaten or harm others.
