KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent — In a major operation early Thursday morning, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) apprehended a Green Hill resident found in possession of prohibited ammunition.

The coordinated effort, involving the Rapid Response Unit (RRU), Special Services Unit (SSU), Narcotics Unit, and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), led to the arrest of Simon Simmons, a 33-year-old IT technician employed at the SVG Port Authority.

Law enforcement reported that Simmons was found with 13 rounds of 7.62 ammunition, two rounds of .38 ammunition, and one round of shotgun cartridge ammunition. These items are classified as prohibited under Vincentian law.

In a press release, the RSVGPF stated, “The possession of these items constitutes a serious breach of the law, and the suspect has been taken into custody pending further investigations.”

The police force underscored its commitment to maintaining public safety and targeting criminal activities across the nation. “This operation reflects the continued dedication and cooperation among various divisions of the force in safeguarding our communities,” the statement added.
