    Siblings Charged Following Police Incident in Stubbs

    On January 12, 2025, police arrested and charged two siblings, Cannice Dickson, a 46-year-old businesswoman, and Jamal Dickson, a 50-year-old businessman, both residents of Stubbs, in connection with separate incidents involving law enforcement officers.

    Cannice Dickson

    Cannice Dickson was charged with:

    • Assault causing actual bodily harm
    • Assaulting a police officer
    • Resisting arrest

    Investigations revealed that on January 11, 2025, in Stubbs, Cannice allegedly assaulted PC Kayzonna Lavia, causing injuries, and resisted arrest by pushing Cpl Hadley Ballantyne during the execution of his duties.

    Jamal Dickson

    Jamal Dickson was charged with:

    • Obstruction of a police officer
    • Assaulting a police officer

    It is alleged that Jamal obstructed Cpl Ballantyne while performing his lawful duties and attempted to assault PC Lavia.

    Court Proceedings

    Both individuals appeared before the Calliaqua Magistrate Court on January 13, 2025. They pleaded not guilty to all charges and were granted bail in the sum of $1,000.00 ECC each with one surety. The matters have been adjourned to March 10, 2025.
