The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is currently investigating a tragic motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a young man and left three others injured. The accident occurred at approximately 7:15 PM on February 2, 2025, along the Mangrove Public Road.
Details of the Incident
According to preliminary investigations, a red Toyota Vitz, registration number RL868, owned by Elite Rental Services of Richland Park, was traveling along the roadway when it veered off and plunged over an embankment. The vehicle was being driven by 29-year-old Elrico Patterson, an Auxiliary Police Officer from Owia.
Among the three passengers in the vehicle was Normanie Duncan, a 19-year-old unemployed resident of Owia, who tragically lost his life at the scene. The District Medical Officer (DMO) pronounced Duncan dead upon arrival.
The two other passengers, Raffique Hackshaw, 36, and Jovanie Phillips, 24, also of Owia, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Georgetown Hospital for urgent medical attention. Due to the severity of their injuries, Elrico Patterson and Jovanie Phillips were later transferred to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) in Kingstown for advanced treatment. Reports indicate that Raffique Hackshaw remains in stable condition.
