March 18, 2025 – Kingstown: Officers from the Narcotics Unit of the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in connection with an illegal firearm seizure, as part of an ongoing operation to curb gun-related crimes in the country.
According to a press release issued by the RSVGPF, “Shemar King, a 24-year-old labourer from Edinboro, was intercepted by officers in Lowmans Windward on Saturday, 16th March 2025.” During a search of the vehicle he occupied, authorities discovered a 9mm Taurus pistol, an unlicensed firearm.
The police believe the seizure is a significant step in preventing “potential criminal activities involving unlawful weapons on our streets.”
Court Appearance and Bail Conditions
King appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Monday, March 17, 2025, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail in the sum of $12,000 with one surety and ordered to report to the Central Police Station every Monday until the case is resolved.
