KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, March 20, 2025 – The Centre for Enterprise Development Inc. (CED) has officially launched its men’s empowerment programme, the Technical Assistance for Men’s Employment and Entrepreneurship Development (TAMEED) Project.
Funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with an investment of EC$348,713, this six-month initiative aims to equip men with the skills, resources, and guidance necessary to achieve sustainable employment and entrepreneurial success.
Speaking at the launch event held at the National Insurance Services (NIS) Conference Room, CED General Manager Ronette Lewis described TAMEED as the first initiative of its kind in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, designed specifically to support male entrepreneurs.
“This is more than just a project or a programme,” Lewis stated. “It is a call to action for our male entrepreneurs to take charge of their personal and professional growth.”
She urged participants to take ownership of their businesses and view the project as a stepping stone for long-term success. While TAMEED provides technical support, mentorship, and financial assistance, Lewis emphasized that sustained growth depends on the commitment of the participants.
“This is your opportunity to make the most of this initiative. The ball is in your court. We at the CED will do our part, but you must be ready to do yours. Come 100% prepared to maximize this opportunity,” she encouraged.
Lewis also expressed gratitude to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for its generous support, acknowledging its broader humanitarian efforts worldwide.
Cozy Stewart, a representative of the donor organization, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting small businesses, recognizing their vital role in the community.
“We believe in the principles of industry and service and commend small businesses for their contributions. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be many future collaborations with the CED. We stand ready to assist in any way possible,” Stewart said.
Opreth Sutherland, also representing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, delivered brief remarks. Additionally, three participants shared their entrepreneurial journeys and expectations, outlining how they believe the TAMEED Project will support their growth.
The TAMEED Project marks a significant step toward empowering men in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, fostering economic development through entrepreneurship.
