On March 29, 2025, police, acting on a warrant, arrested and charged Glenroy Providence, a 54-year-old labourer of Spring Village, with the offences of Threatening Language and Threat to Kill, contrary to Sections 289 and 165 respectively of Chapter 171 of the Criminal Code, Revised Edition of the Laws of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, 2009.
According to investigations, Providence allegedly made verbal threats in circumstances likely to cause a breach of the peace. He is accused of using threatening language toward Mozart Browne, a 28-year-old labourer of the same address, stating, “I have a bullet for you.”
He was also charged in connection with a separate incident involving Randolph Ashbee, a 46-year-old mechanic of the same address. It is alleged that while in a public place at Spring Village, Providence made use of threatening language and issued a threat to kill, stating, “I have a bullet for you,” and further, “Randy, me go kill you, me go shoot you.”
The offences were committed at Spring Village on March 14 and March 16, 2025.
Providence appeared before the Serious Offences Court on March 31, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to both charges. He was offered composite bail in the sum of $1,000.00 ECC and ordered to report to the Georgetown Police Station every Wednesday and Friday between 8am and 8pm. He was also ordered not to have any contact with the complainant. The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Georgetown Magistrate Court for April 7, 2025.
