Police arrested and charged Shakiel Strough of Park Hill on March 28, 2025, for driving without a valid license and operating a vehicle without insurance. Investigations revealed that Strough was behind the wheel of motor vehicle PN-677 in North Union while his driver’s license had expired for the period February 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025. Additionally, he did not have a valid insurance policy in place to cover third-party risk.

Appearing before the Serious Offences Court on March 31, 2025, Strough pleaded guilty to both charges. The court reprimanded and discharged him for driving without a license. However, he was ordered to pay a fine of EC$300 immediately for driving an uninsured vehicle. Failure to comply will result in a three-month prison sentence at His Majesty’s Prison.
