Dominica delivered a dominant performance in their opening match of the 2025 WINLOTT-WICB Under-19 Cricket Championships, thrashing St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) by a massive 172 runs at Tanteen Playing Field.
Batting first, Dominica posted an imposing 297 for 7 in their 50 overs. Earsinho Fontaine led the charge with a stunning unbeaten 125 off 135 balls, including 10 fours and 5 sixes. He was well-supported by Jahson Vidal (56), Lluvio Charles (36), and skipper Stephan Pascal (23).
SVG’s bowling was led by captain Kodi Grant who took 3 for 41, with support from Devontae McDowall (2 for 80), Zach Thomas (1 for 11), and Lebron Douglas (1 for 63).
In reply, SVG crumbled to 125 all out in 43.2 overs. Teenager Zach Thomas top-scored with 37, while Kodi Grant and Ramon Johnson added 18 apiece. Jelani Joseph spearheaded the Dominican bowling with 3 for 24, while Joel Durand (2 for 27) and four others chipped in with a wicket each.
Earsinho Fontaine was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance, including his century and a tidy bowling spell. Dominica sealed the match with a commanding 172-run victory.
