I am writing to register my belief that the Unity Labour Party (ULP) should be re-elected for another term, its sixth term, whenever general elections are called in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Tell me, Mr. Editor, if the truth be told, has the ULP not demonstrated leadership (especially through its leader Dr. Ralph Gonsalves,) vision and commitment to the development of our country?
If this is the case, it makes sense, simple sense, that we re-elect the ULP so that we can continue along the path of prosperity and progress that the ULP has set us along.
Tell me, why would we want to spoil a good thing… a good thing that has seen investments in infrastructure (airport and seaport), education (more schools and scholarships at the university level) and healthcare (Diagnostic Centre and the New Acute Care Hospital under construction).
Not only that, but the ULP has implemented programmes that have direct impact on reducing poverty, providing housing directly and facilitating ownership of houses, creating jobs and more.
And we must not forget the expansion of roads, the construction of bridges where they never existed and other infrastructural projects.
Mr. Editor, I believe the track record of the ULP speaks for itself. To re-elect the ULP is a guarantee that St. Vincent and the Grenadines will remain on the path to prosperity and progress.
Long live the ULP.
Jones
