Police have arrested and charged 35-year-old Olone Garnes, a labourer of Rockies, with the offence of criminal assault.
According to investigations, on June 2, 2025, Garnes allegedly assaulted a 49-year-old female resident of the same community by raising a knife above her head with the intent to cause bodily harm. The incident occurred in Rockies.
Garnes appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on June 5, 2025, where he pleaded guilty to the charge. The Magistrate subsequently ordered that he undergo a mental health evaluation at the Mental Health Centre for a period of fourteen days.
