Kingstown, St. Vincent – July 6, 2025
In what many are calling the most electrifying performance in the history of the Soca Monarch competition, two long-time rivals — Delroy “Fireman” Hooper and Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle — joined forces to seize the 2025 Soca Monarch title.
The dynamic duo performed their high-energy collaboration “Erupt”, setting Victoria Park ablaze and outshining 12 other competitors in a show that raged into the early morning hours. Their performance, filled with pyrotechnics, powerful vocals, and commanding stage presence, has already been dubbed “legendary” by fans and commentators alike.
Fireman entered the competition as the defending champion from 2024, while Skinny Fabulous, a multi-time Soca Monarch winner, made a dramatic return after several years away from the stage. Their reunion brought a wave of excitement and nostalgia to the event.
Second place went to the newly crowned Ragga Soca Monarch, Utuma Bongo Prime, whose commanding performance proved his versatility across genres.
Third place was captured by Lplank, another crowd favorite.
There was a tie for fourth place between seasoned performer Lornette “Fyah Empress” Nedd, energetic newcomer Dymez, and the vibrant D Pixel, showing just how close the competition was.
The event stretched into the wee hours of the morning, with the official results not being announced until just before 6:00 a.m. But despite the late finish, the energy in the crowd never waned — a testament to the enduring power of Vincy Mas and the passion of the artists who light up its stage.
