The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is extending gratitude to the Vincentian public, stakeholders, and carnival patrons for what it describes as their “exemplary conduct, cooperation with law enforcement, and adherence to security and traffic protocols” throughout the Vincy Mas 2025 festivities.

In an official press release issued on Wednesday, July 9, the RSVGPF stated that the twelve-day carnival period, which concluded on July 8, “transpired without any major incidents, accidents, or violent crimes.” The release noted that while some minor infractions occurred, police officers were able to “effectively manage and de-escalate these situations.”

Commissioner of Police Mr. Enville Williams, in the release, commended both the public and the officers involved in the security operation. “On behalf of the men and women of the RSVGPF and other security partners, I wish to personally thank and commend the general public for largely complying with the security protocols implemented for Vincy Mas,” he said.

“I also extend high commendation to all officers who worked tirelessly to ensure our carnival remained free from major violence and crime. This demonstrates that, as a nation, we all can and must play a role in the safety and security of our communities,” Commissioner Williams added.

The press release emphasized that the commendable behavior of the public aligned with the theme of this year’s RSVGPF Crime Prevention Exhibition: “Let’s Celebrate our Culture—Crime Free.”

Commissioner Williams also expressed appreciation to the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC), saying, “I express appreciation to the management and staff of the CDC for their strategic collaboration with the police to ensure a safe carnival for all.”

Throughout the Vincy Mas celebrations, the RSVGPF maintained a strong presence on the ground with visible patrols, stop-and-search operations, and other anti-crime initiatives. These efforts led to the recovery of several weapons and small quantities of illegal drugs.

The release concluded by reminding the public that “safety is everyone’s responsibility.” The RSVGPF encouraged all citizens to continue working together to build safer communities, support young people in reaching their full potential, and contribute to nation-building.
