A delegation of principals, deputy principals, and Senior Education Officer from across St. Vincent and the Grenadines will travel to Grenada for the 30th Biennial Conference of the Caribbean Association of Principals of Secondary Schools, themed “Empowering Educational Leaders for Sustainability: Navigating Challenges, Inspiring Innovation and Excellence”. The conference will take place over one week, from Sunday, July 20th, to Sunday, July 27th, 2025.
The activity aims to provide capacity-building workshops to empower school leaders to enhance their skills and improve their effectiveness. Participants will engage in various activities designed to support their professional development.
During their visit, a Cocktail Welcome Reception will be hosted by the Governor General of Grenada. The Minster of Education will also make remarks at the Opening Ceremony. This symbolizes the collaboration and commitment of educational leaders in the region.
Included in the delegation are:
1. Mrs. Insa Prince- Duncan- President of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Principal’s of Secondary Schools and Technical Institues and Principal of the Bishop’s College Kingstown.
2. Mr. Yohance Gibson- Vice President of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Principal’s of Secondary Schools and Technical Institues and Principal of the St. Martin’s Secondary School.
3. Mrs. C. La Toya De Roche-John- Headmistress of the Girls’ High School.
4. Sr. Martha Sebastien- Principal of the St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown.
5. Mrs. Dorette Luthers Mayers- Deputy Principal- St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua
6. Mrs. Latheisha Brewster- Deputy Principal – Bethel High School
7. Ms. Jasmin Chambers- Deputy Principal – Tromouca Ontario Secondary School.
8. Mrs. Cheryl Shortte- Deputy Principal – Buccament Bay Secondary School
9. Mrs. Arlene Toppin- Bailey – Deputy Principal of St.Clair Dacon Secondary School
10. Senior Education Officer, Ministry of Education- Ms Elspeth Adams
Chief Education Officer, Mrs. Kay Martin- Jack wishes the delegation all the best and hopes that the Principals and Deputy Principals will come back revitalized with a zest to enhance staff and student relations at schools across SVG.
