The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation (SVGBF) has successfully completed two of its three youth summer basketball camps, drawing young aspiring athletes from across the country to the courts of New Montrose and Langley Park between July 21st and 25th.
The week-long camps focused on building foundational basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, and passing, in a fun and inclusive environment. A final joint session on the last day brought together campers from both locations for a series of mini-games and skill challenges.
Thanks to generous support from the National Olympic Committee (NOC), the SVGBF was able to deliver high-quality training free of charge. Guidance was provided by experienced coaches — many of whom have proudly represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines in basketball — as well as guest speakers from successful local businesses, inspiring participants with messages of discipline, teamwork, and personal growth.
With the Windward Island School Games (WISG) currently underway, SVGBF officials say they’re energized by the emerging talent and enthusiasm displayed by campers. The Federation sees these camps as key to nurturing a future generation of confident and capable national players.
The third and final summer camp is set to take place from August 4–8, 2025 at the Petit Bordel Hard Court, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM daily. Limited spots remain, and parents or guardians are encouraged to register their children promptly to take advantage of this free opportunity.
