The Chief Executive Officer of the Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA), Kem Bartholomew, has announced that reconstruction work on the Mary Hutchinson Primary School in Union Island is on track to be completed for the start of the new school term in September.

The school was completely destroyed by Hurricane Beryl in 2024.

During a recent visit to the site, Bartholomew said significant progress has been made:

    > “The main sections of the building are completed. Basically, what remains are the final touches such as painting and establishing the permanent electricity connection. We are satisfied with the progress,” he stated.

The facility will also feature a newly constructed pan room. Bartholomew added that the only component not expected to be finished by September is the fencing of the compound.
