Travis Harry Never Fooled Me. It Was Always About Himself and His Inflated Ego
Dear Editor,
Travis Harry crowned himself the smartest man in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The most progressive. The agent of change. But from the beginning it was always clear. It was never about the people. It was about Harry. About his ego. About his desperate hunger to be recognized and placed at the head table.
When he did not get his way with the NDP, he turned bitter. He now spews venom at the very people he once championed, as if his personal tantrum should matter more than the lives of the people. North Leeward, which he claims to love, is worse off than ever. Farmers who once sustained the community and the country, especially ganja farmers who built homes, bought vehicles, educated children, and kept the economy alive, have been displaced and stripped of their livelihoods. Their lands taken for a quarry that poisons rivers and scars the environment. Once proud, independent men and women are now shells of themselves. And while they suffer, Harry feeds only his vanity.
Meanwhile, Vincentians face their darkest conditions in decades. Hunger bites at families. Hospitals have no medicine, no linen, no dignity for the sick. Schools and government buildings rot with mold. Crime is rampant. Civil servants were victimized under the vaccine mandate. Corruption runs wild. Rainforest enriches itself at our expense. And yet the ULP dares to ask for thirty years in power, as if twenty five years of decay were not enough.
Beside Harry stands Adriana King. Another inflated ego. Another pretender who betrays the cause when the spotlight does not shine on her. Both are distractions. Both are about themselves, not the people.
But Vincentians know better. They know the New Democratic Party offers the real alternative. The NDP has shown that it is ready to lead, ready to transform the economy, ready to create opportunities for everyone, regardless of political persuasion or background. The NDP’s vision is of a prosperous St. Vincent and the Grenadines where law and order is respected, where discipline and unity replace division, where every citizen feels they have a stake.
It will be a country where children and women feel safe, where the elderly and vulnerable are cared for, where the idea of begging one man for survival is replaced by the knowledge that through shared prosperity we can all achieve our goals. A St. Vincent and the Grenadines that is prosperous, peaceful, structured, disciplined, and united.
That is what the NDP offers. That is what Harry and King would distract us from. That is why they must be ignored.
Travis Harry never fooled me. And he must never fool the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines again. The future belongs not to egos, but to the people. And this time, the people must choose change.
