North Leeward was once a proud community where farmers stood tall. Farming was our backbone, our strength, and our identity. Men and women worked the land with dignity, feeding their families, building their homes, and shaping their own future without waiting for government handouts. 🌱🏡
But under the ULP, that pride has been stripped away.
Today, the same farmers who once carried North Leeward on their shoulders are left depending on road work and handouts just to survive. Farming has been neglected. The banana industry that once gave life to this community is gone, with no serious replacement. ULP promised to revive agriculture, to open markets, to empower farmers, but those promises were empty.
đź”´ Look at North Leeward today under ULP:
Farmers’ lands are idle because there is no real support to make agriculture profitable.
Young people see no future in farming and are forced to depend on road work or migrate.
Families that once had independence are now trapped in dependency, waiting on government to “call their name.”
No investment in agro-processing, no marketing support, no vision for modern farming.
Over 20 years in office, yet the only thing consistent is road work and handouts.
This is not the North Leeward our foreparents built. Our grandparents worked the soil, built their homes from sweat, and sent their children to school through the strength of the land. They stood proud and independent. Today, ULP has replaced that independence with dependency and hopelessness.
ULP has failed North Leeward. Instead of creating opportunities, they created a culture of dependency. Instead of empowering farmers, they abandoned them. Instead of building a future for our young people, they offered them road work. That is not progress. That is betrayal.
North Leeward deserves better. We deserve leadership that values farmers, invests in agriculture, empowers young people, and restores the pride and independence that once defined us.
After more than 20 years of ULP, what do we have to show? Abandoned farms, struggling families, broken promises, and a community left behind.
It’s time to rise again. Time to stand up for our farmers, our families, and our future. North Leeward will not fall any further—we will rise when we choose real leadership.
