Kingstown, September 8, 2025 – The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is cautioning media houses and the public against sharing unverified reports regarding a recent incident involving a serving police officer and a female victim. Authorities stressed that edited clips, anonymous posts, and speculative commentary risk distorting facts, prejudicing investigations, and causing further harm.

Investigators have been deployed, evidence is being preserved, and witness canvassing is underway. Interim administrative measures have been put in place where necessary. The force reassured the public that all procedures are being carried out under established protocols to ensure impartial, lawful, and timely outcomes.

The RSVGPF acknowledged the seriousness of the incident, which has generated significant public concern. “The accused remains in lawful police custody and is assisting investigators,” the statement clarified, emphasizing that claims of release are incorrect. Further information will only be released when appropriate, in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the dignity of those affected.

The force urged the public and media to rely solely on official updates from the Public Relations and Complaints Department. Individuals with first-hand, verifiable information are encouraged to contact Police Control at 457-1211 or the Public Relations Office at 485-6891.

“Circulating unverified material distorts the information environment, risks prejudicing eventual proceedings, and deepens harm,” the RSVGPF stated. The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and to the fair administration of justice
