Kingstown, St. Vincent – September 10, 2025 – The Ministry of Education and National Reconciliation says the Dr. J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School will be temporarily closed on Thursday, September 11, and Friday, September 12, 2025.
The Ministry says the closure follows “reports of an escalating termite infestation, which the Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) diligently addressed during the recent school vacation. Unfortunately, some areas of the school remain unsuitable for effective learning and instruction.”
According to the release, “comprehensive repairs of the affected sections will be undertaken with the highest priority on the safety and comfort of students, staff, and the entire school community,” consistent with the commitment given by Education Minister Hon. Curtis King.
The Ministry assures that schooling will continue uninterrupted through online learning during the two-day closure, with normal classes scheduled to resume on Monday, September 15, 2025.
