Kingstown, St. Vincent – Tristan Williams appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 8th, 2025, where he pleaded not guilty to three charges laid against him by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.
Williams’ case has attracted public attention after videos circulated suggesting he was a victim of police brutality, a claim he reiterated during the hearing.
Recounting the events of September 4th, Williams told the court he had received information that police were looking for him. He said he went voluntarily to the Central Police Station in Kingstown, where he was directed to report instead to the Ottley Hall Police Station.
The prosecution requested that Williams be made to report to the Central Police Station twice weekly, a suggestion that drew a humorous response from the presiding magistrate, who questioned whether this was intended to “annoy the same officers.”
According to the charges, Williams allegedly used indecent language towards an officer, stating, “This is de kinda F*ery I can’t take with this Police force.” He was further accused of entering the Ottley Hall station with intent to annoy officer Desroy Browne and of resisting arrest from the same officer.
Williams’ attorney, Jomo Thomas, argued that the allegations were illogical, noting that it was unreasonable to believe that his client would report to the Central Police Station at 2 a.m., then proceed directly to Ottley Hall, only to resist arrest.
The trial has been scheduled for April 28th, 202
