The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has charged a Chauncey/Redemption Sharpes man with murder in connection with the death of 42-year-old Sharon Elizabeth Ashton of Long Wall, Kingstown, whose body was discovered on September 9, 2025.
Police say that on September 11, 2025, 62-year-old mason Winston Lewis was arrested and charged with Ashton’s murder. Officers were alerted to the discovery of Ashton’s body in Long Wall, where she was found unresponsive with apparent injuries. Despite medical assistance, she was later pronounced dead.
Lewis appeared before the Mesopotamia Magistrate’s Court on September 12, 2025. Given the indictable nature of the charge, he was not required to enter a plea and was remanded in custody pending a Preliminary Inquiry.
The RSVGPF says investigations are ongoing and is appealing to anyone with information to contact the police at 999/911, the Police Control at (784) 457-1211, the Major Crimes Unit at (784) 457-1211 Ext., or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at (784) 456-1810.
The Force also extended condolences to Ashton’s family and friends during this difficult time.
