When we look across North Leeward, it is clear that sports and culture have been neglected for years under the ULP government. Our young people, full of talent and potential, are left with rundown playing fields, a lack of proper training programs, and very little support for their growth.
Ask yourself: how many of our facilities have been properly developed? How many structured cultural or sporting initiatives are consistently funded in North Leeward? The truth is, under ULP, North Leeward has been forgotten.
Sports and culture are not luxuries—they are pathways for discipline, development, and opportunities. They keep young people engaged, help fight crime, create national pride, and even open doors for careers both locally and internationally. Yet, our athletes, coaches, musicians, and cultural leaders are forced to do everything on their own with minimal resources.
But there is hope. Dr. Shallow has a vision for true development in North Leeward. Unlike what we’ve seen before, his approach is about real investment and real action. Under his leadership, North Leeward will finally see:
✅ Modern, upgraded playing fields and sporting facilities – from Petit Bordel to Rose Bank to Chateaubelair and beyond, our youths will finally have quality spaces to train and compete.
✅ Structured sports programs and academies – building proper pathways for cricketers, footballers, netballers, and athletes in every discipline to grow from grassroots to national level.
✅ Investment in culture and the arts – ensuring our musicians, dancers, dramatists, and cultural groups have the funding, spaces, and recognition they need to keep our traditions alive while giving new talent a stage.
✅ Youth empowerment through sports and culture – programs that create opportunities for scholarships, professional contracts, and exposure at regional and international levels.
✅ Community pride and economic growth – because a strong cultural and sporting sector attracts events, visitors, and investment that benefit the entire area.
North Leeward has always been rich in talent—whether on the cricket field, the football field, the stage, or the festival ground. What we have lacked is the vision and investment from government to take that talent to the next level.
For too long, we have been promised but not delivered. No more neglect. No more empty words.
