“From Vision To Victory: 17 Years Of Championing Success!”

Kingstown, St. Vincent – October 1, 2025 – The Imperial Champions Toastmasters Club proudly marks its 17th anniversary this October under the theme: “From Vision To Victory: 17 Years Of Championing Success!”

Founded on October 22, 2008, the club set out with a vision to build a cadre of quality Toastmasters in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Over the years, this vision has become a reality, with several members earning the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award—the highest level of educational achievement in Toastmasters. Less than 1% of all Toastmasters worldwide achieve this milestone.

The club proudly celebrates seven DTMs: Jo Thomas-Elliott, Kenneth Onu, Monica Thomas-Woodley, Nigel Scott, Tamira Browne, Wendie Edwards-Wilson, and Jacqui English-Jacobs.

    Anniversary Activities

The 17th anniversary celebrations will feature a variety of social and educational events, including:

    A beach picnic

    A games evening

    An impromptu Olympics

The club’s inaugural hybrid meeting on October 16, marking a return to in-person gatherings since the shift to Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Honoring a Trailblazer

The club also recognizes the achievements of Toastmaster Anika Stapleton, one of its pioneering members. Stapleton made history as the first Vincentian to win the Caribbean Toastmasters International Speech Contest and was the first regional Toastmaster to compete at the International level in the USA.

    Leadership and Invitation

At a recent executive social, Club President Jacqui English-Jacobs encouraged officers to pursue goals out of love for the club. The executive team also includes:

    Shaquille Lewis, Vice President Education

    Alicia Kirby, Vice President Membership

Janeel King, Vice President Public Relations

    Trackera Davis-Hamilton, Secretary

    Leanna Laidlow, Treasurer

    Elaine Forbes-Daisley, Sergeant at Arms

The club warmly invites members of the public to join in its anniversary celebrations. The Imperial Champions Toastmasters Club is one of three Toastmasters clubs in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and part of the global Toastmasters International network, which builds leadership and communication skills.

The club currently meets via Zoom on the first and third Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.
