Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines – October 9, 2025
The 2026 NLA Inter Secondary Schools Athletics Championship got off to a spirited start on Thursday, October 9th, with the staging of the ISSAC Cross Country Race at the E.T. Joshua Tarmac.
Run over a 2-kilometer circuit, the girls completed 4 kilometers while the boys contested 6 kilometers.
In the girls’ division, the Lady Warriors of the Central Leeward Secondary School successfully defended their title, finishing ahead of the St. Vincent Girls’ High School, who secured second place. The Troumaca Ontario Lady Titans claimed third place to round off the podium.
The boys’ race saw a commanding performance from the Georgetown Secondary Gladiators, who stormed to victory and stamped their dominance. The Central Leeward Secondary Warriors followed in second place, while the Saints of St. Martin’s rounded out the top three in third.
The championship continues later this month with the highly anticipated Road Relay, scheduled for October 30th. The event will run from Peruvian Vale to Arnos Vale, as schools take their talents to the highway in pursuit of athletic glory.
