The father of Omro Pereria, popularly known as “Red Man”, who was shot in Calder on Friday evening, says his son is fighting for his life, and he remains hopeful for a full recovery.

Speaking to Asberth News Network (ANN) from his home in Canada, the distraught father said he was shocked and in disbelief when he received the news, describing his son as “not a troublemaker.”

    > “The last update I got is that his lungs and small intestine were damaged,” he shared, adding that he is trying to return home to be by his son’s side. “I’m staying positive and praying for the best. I just want everyone to keep him in their prayers. I love my son dearly.”

According to information received, Pereria was reportedly shot in the stomach area by an individual from Calder. Police have confirmed that one person is in custody assisting with the investigation.

Reports also indicate that the alleged shooter transported Pereria to the Mesopotamia Health Centre following the incident.

Up to press time, details surrounding the circumstances leading to the shooting remain sketchy as investigations continue.
