Barrouallie, Central Leeward – October 9, 2025
The New Democratic Party’s (NDP) candidate for North Leeward, Dr. Kishore Shallow, delivered a passionate address to a spirited crowd in Barrouallie, Central Leeward, declaring that the time has come for a new chapter in the nation’s story.
Dr. Shallow’s central message was clear and emphatic: “It is Time for Change. It is Time for Hope.”
He told supporters that after a quarter of a century under the same administration, the country has stagnated under one voice and one vision.
“For twenty-five years, one government has written our story. One leadership, a singular voice, the same broken promises, the same old khaki pants. Nothing new!”
A Country Crying Out for Relief
Dr. Shallow painted a vivid picture of a nation struggling under the weight of economic hardship and inequality. He said that from coast to coast, Vincentians are crying out for help and fairness.
“Everywhere I go in this country, I hear similar cries,” he said.
“People are complaining that they cannot stretch the little dollar they getting anymore.
People are complaining that only one set of people are getting opportunities.
People here in Barrouallie are saying they have never seen so many young people without jobs and opportunities.
People in Bagga are saying they have lost hope because things are getting harder by the day.”
He emphasized that he and his NDP colleagues, including Central Leeward candidate Conroy Huggins, share the pain and frustration of ordinary citizens.
More Than an Election, A Movement for Change
Dr. Shallow framed the upcoming general election as a defining moment, not just politically, but personally for every Vincentian.
“This election is not just about changing a government. It is about changing your life and livelihood. It is about you and your children’s future. It is about the young man on the block getting more opportunities. It is about the young woman who wants to work and be an example for her daughter.”
He urged voters to make a choice rooted in optimism and progress:
“In a few weeks, you will be able to choose:
• Hope over fear
• Jobs over idleness
• Opportunity over stagnation”
A Rallying Call for Progress
Dr. Shallow appealed to the crowd to reject complacency and seize the moment for national renewal.
“How much longer can we afford to stay behind? We cannot delay our progress any more.
It is time that we embrace change so we can catch up with our neighbours.
It is time that we rise together.
It is time we move forward together.”
A Confident Call to Victory
As he concluded, Dr. Shallow struck a note of confidence and togetherness, rallying his supporters toward the coming election day.
“We will go to the polls, and we will be storming the polls with confidence. There will be one singular mission — that mission is Change!
Together, we will realize that change. Together, we will win.”
The North Leeward candidate’s address in Barrouallie echoed a growing theme within the NDP campaign, that after 25 years, Vincentians are ready for renewal, opportunity, and hope.
