On September 5th, 2005, the George Stephens Senior Secondary School (GSSSS) opened its doors in the small community of Colonarie, catering to the educational needs of students from Colonarie, South Rivers, Park Hill, and Byera.
Named in honour of the late Mr. George Stephens Sr., a distinguished principal of the Colonarie R.C. Primary School who made significant contributions to education, the institution marked a major milestone on Friday, September 5th, 2025, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a Service of Thanksgiving at the St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Belle Vue.
As part of the celebrations—and in recognition of World Food Day—the Social Sciences Department spearheaded a community outreach initiative, distributing ten (10) food packages across five (5) communities where students reside: Colonarie, Byera, South Rivers, Park Hill, and Diamonds. This initiative sought to strengthen the bond between the school and its surrounding communities while instilling in students the values of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility.
On behalf of the principal, staff, and students, the George Stephens Senior Secondary School extends sincere gratitude to the generous sponsors — Triple R Supermarket, C. K. Greaves, Acado SVG, Ferdie Footstep, Allan Smith and Family Bakery, Randy’s Supermarket, and Star Garage — for their invaluable support in making this initiative a success.
