Sion Hill, St. Vincent – Saturday, October 25, 2025 – The 2025 NLA SVGTA International Masters T20 Festival bowled off in fine style on Saturday with a series of exciting encounters across the Fete and Festival Divisions. The opening day saw dominant performances from Windies Masters, AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados teams, and North East Masters.
Fete Division – Group A
At the Sion Hill Playing Field, Windies Masters made light work of Canada Masters Cricket Club, cruising to an easy nine-wicket victory. Canada Masters struggled to 83 for 8 off a reduced 16 overs, led by Naveed Sehrai (27) and Srinivasan Kasavan (20). Rudy Gibson was devastating with the ball, taking an outstanding 5 for 8 from four overs.
Windies Masters then reached 85 for 1 in 13 overs, powered by Chris Vernon (28 not out) and Shem Stay (26).
Over at Cumberland, AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Veterans defeated Trinbago Leather Backs by seven wickets. Trinbago Leather Backs posted 127 for 6 from 20 overs, with Micah Joseph hitting 42 from 34 balls. AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Veterans replied with 128 for 3 in 15.4 overs, thanks to an impressive 74-run second-wicket stand between Victor Best (64 not out) and Ryan Durrant (32). Joseph’s 2 for 18 could not prevent the loss.
Fete Division – Group B
AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters also opened their campaign with a four-wicket victory over Sarasota International Cricket Club at Cumberland. Sarasota posted 106 for 7 from 20 overs, led by Shiva Harry (26), while the Barbados Masters bowlers shared the spoils—Anthony Morris (2/8), Allan Young (2/20), and Wesley Straker (2/20). In reply, the Barbadians reached 107 for 6 in 18.3 overs, with Pedro Agard (32 not out), Andy Payne (24), and Owen Birch (23) steering them home.
At Stubbs, Rungetters Sports Club claimed a four-wicket win over Prime Minister’s Eleven. The PM’s XI made 116 for 5 in their 20 overs, with Ariston Laurence (55) and Lance John (29 not out) leading the charge. For Rungetters, Vinn Maharaj (2/12) and Prakesh Nagessar (2/29) did the damage with the ball before Dean Ali’s 32 guided them to 118 for 6 in 15.5 overs. Shawn Rose took 3 for 16 in a losing effort.
Festival Division
In the Festival Division, Cricket Canada Masters Council defeated Sarasota International Cricket Club 40+ by eight wickets at Cumberland. Sarasota 40+ were dismissed for 84 in 19.4 overs, with Satrohan Austin top-scoring with 23. The Canadian bowlers dominated—Yantin Malik (3/21), Shailesh Patel (2/4), Nittin Gosean (2/7), and Mohammed Anwar (2/11).
Cricket Canada Masters Council comfortably reached 85 for 2 in 12.4 overs, led by skipper Vinay Devisetty (32 not out) and Harman Dosanjh (24 retired).
At Sion Hill, North East Masters outclassed North Leeward Masters by nine wickets. North Leeward were bundled out for 54 in 12.3 overs, with only Hayden Ferdinand (20) offering resistance. Shane Shillingford (4/7) and Rajiv Roberts (4/18) shared eight wickets between them. North East Masters then coasted to 56 for 1 in just five overs, with Renrick Williams (28 not out) and Shillingford (13 not out) sealing the win.
The final Festival Division match saw New York/Stubbs Masters claim a five-wicket win over Mustique Company Masters at Park Hill. Mustique were dismissed for 104 in 17 overs, with Dexter Small unbeaten on 18. Dean Williams (4/28) and Olando Mafford (3/8) led the bowling effort.
In reply, New York/Stubbs Masters made 108 for 4 in 15.4 overs, with Mark Audain (54) and Sylvan Spencer (29 not out) guiding them home.
