The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Dr. Timothy Providence, a respected figure in St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ medical community.

    In an official statement issued on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the Ministry, led by the Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, extended heartfelt condolences to Dr. Providence’s family, close friends, and colleagues.

    Dr. Providence, who served as former Medical Director of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, also chaired several key bodies within the nation’s health sector, including the Health and Wellness Commission, the Medical Registration Board, and the Medical Accreditation Board.

    He was a highly regarded obstetrician-gynecologist known for his compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to patient care.

    “Dr. Providence dedicated his life to the service of others through medicine, demonstrating unwavering commitment, compassion, and excellence in the care he provided,” the Ministry’s statement read. “His leadership and contribution to the health sector of St. Vincent and the Grenadines have left an indelible mark.”

    The Ministry described his passing as a profound loss to the medical fraternity and the wider Vincentian community.

    “We share in the sorrow of all who mourn his passing and pray that his family and loved ones find comfort in knowing that his work and legacy will continue to inspire generations of health professionals and health initiatives to come,” the statement concluded.

    Dr. Timothy Providence’s legacy of service and excellence will be remembered across the health sector of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
