Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines – The New Democratic Party (NDP) has issued a stern warning to individuals associated with the ULP to cease and desist from ripping down their campaign posters.
The Chair of the Central Kingstown Constituency and NDP spokesperson, Igal Adams, speaking on the New Time program yesterday, reported that posters erected by the NDP from Block 2000 to Green Hill were torn down. He stressed that opposing supporters can place their posters above or below NDP posters but should not remove them.
On the same evening, Israel Bruce, NDP Candidate for South Central Windward, addressed a meeting in Marriaqua, expressing concern over his posters in Diamonds being removed shortly after they were put up. He noted that a video is circulating showing a youngster taking down the posters. Bruce emphasized, “Posters are not votes,” and called on Saboto Caesar, the ULP candidate in South Central Windward, to publicly condemn the act and warn supporters not to interfere with NDP campaign materials in the constituency.
