Langley Park — Saboto Caesar, the ULP candidate for South Central Windward, sharply criticized Shevern John, the ULP’s North Windward candidate, during a Friday-night ULP meeting in Langley Park held in support of Dr. Grace Walters.
In a forceful address, Caesar accused John and teachers who have joined the New Democratic Party of being “shameless,” insisting the United Labour Party was the force behind the island’s education revolution. Repeating the rebuke throughout his speech, Caesar shouted, “Shevern, you no shame,” and warned that John had “let down the people of North Windward.”
Caesar also invoked imagery of the area’s past hardships, saying he remembered “the days children going to North Union Secondary School — once it rained they had to catch the Indian bus before the river came down to get over.” He used the memory to question John’s commitment to the community.
Turning his fire toward broader political allegiances, Caesar accused opponents of aligning themselves with those he described as willing to “sell out our sovereignty” for economic gain. “You could imagine someone who wants to associate themselves with Joseph Chatoyer running for a party who want to sell passports — Shevern, you no shame. You have time to change your mind, but if you don’t we will make sure you lose,” Caesar warned.
The rally, held in support of Dr. Grace Walters’s North Windward campaign, brought clear tensions within local politics into the open as candidates and supporters battled over party loyalty and the legacy of past developments in education.
