The Council of Caribbean Associations – Canada (CCAC) has officially launched its 2026 Scholarship and Bursary Program, and Caribbean islanders with roots across the region—including St. Vincent and the Grenadines—should take note. The CCAC is a registered non-profit umbrella body representing fourteen Caribbean national associations in the Greater Toronto Area, and SVG is proudly among them. If you are Vincentian, or of Vincentian descent, and pursuing higher education in Ontario, this opportunity was built with you in mind.
What’s on Offer: Five (5) bursaries and three (3) scholarships for students of Caribbean heritage enrolled in a recognized Canadian university, college, or trade school in Ontario. The program also includes the named Ingrid King Bursary for 2026.
Who Can Apply: First-year or continuing students of Caribbean descent (through parents, guardians, or grandparents) who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or study permit holders studying in Ontario. Applicants must be members of a CCAC Member Association in good standing (no age limit), or be 24 years or younger by August 31, 2026. A strong record of community involvement and leadership is required.
The Give-Back: Recipients must complete 10 volunteer hours with a CCAC Member Association within the award year and attend the official Awards Ceremony. Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply.
Why This Matters for Vincentians: St. Vincent and the Grenadines is one of the fourteen nations represented under the CCAC umbrella. With a growing Vincentian diaspora in Ontario and rising education costs, programs like this are a direct investment in our next generation. Whether your family migrated decades ago or you’re a recent arrival pursuing studies, this is a chance to be recognized and supported by your own Caribbean community in Canada.
