Kingstown, April 8, 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, met with Honorable Andrew John, Minister of Housing, Land Management, Urban Development, and Informal Settlement Upgrading, to discuss opportunities for collaboration in housing and urban development.

    The talks focused on strengthening technical capacities and sharing best practices in sustainable urban planning, efficient land management, and housing policies. Both sides emphasized the importance of advancing projects that directly improve the quality of life in communities, particularly through upgrading informal settlements and expanding access to adequate housing.

    Ambassador Rodríguez Etcheverry reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to social and urban development, citing the historic ties of friendship between the two nations. Minister John welcomed the potential for cooperation, highlighting the impact such projects could have on community well-being.

    Both parties agreed to maintain ongoing dialogue and follow up on the issues discussed, with a view to implementing cooperation actions for mutual benefit.

     Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have a long history of cooperation, especially in health, education, and housing.
