Police have arrested and charged Leon Samuel, 75 years old Labourer of Montaque, Georgetown for the offence of Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and attempt rape. According to investigations, Leon Samuel allegedly (i) assaulted an 80 years old retired teacher by boxing her about her face, chest and hands, causing actual bodily harm. (ii) For with intent to commit the offence of rape on the virtual complainant did an act which is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence at Montaque, Georgetown about 6:10pm on 1.11.18.

Forty-five-year-old Bernard Clarke of Queen’s Drive has until next week Friday 16th November to pay $1,000.00 compensation for kicking a five-year-old boy. Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett handed down the order on Monday after Clarke pleaded guilty to assaulting the child. Clarke said his head was nice when he kicked the little boy. Clarke committed the offense after he and the boy’s grandfather got into an argument. Raymond Quashie of Georgetown was sentenced to 6 months when he appeared before magistrate Bertie Pompey at the Georgetown Magistrate Court and pleaded guilty to being in possession of 136 oranges without lawful excuse. Quashie was caught with the oranges in a knapsack and a bag by lawyer Grant Connell and others at Congo Valley. Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett has advised a seventeen-year-old male to seek forgiveness from God after he struck his 70-year-old grandfather on his head with a steel chair. The teenager, Zachary Haywood, was taken to court on a criminal charge but his grandfather, Caspar Haywood, when called to the witness stand, said it was a family dispute and he did not wish to pursue the matter any further.
